Specific information on local procedures

CONTACTS OF THE VISA OFFICE

The Visa Office can be contacted by telephone every day, from Sunday to Thursday, from 9.00 to 16.00, via the Consulate switchboard on the number: +964.66.210 19 90/2. However, it is suggested to use, as a priority, the e-mail address: erbil.visti@esteri.it .

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

The Office receives by appointment only, every day from Sunday to Thursday, from 9.00 to 13.00. Appointments are scheduled free of charge.

APPOINTMENTS

Users who intend to submit a visa application must get an appointment by sending a request via e-mail to erbil.visti@esteri.it , providing the following information:

– complete personal data and those of any family members who intend to submit the visa application with the applicant;

– their occupation;

– address and telephone number;

– the reason and destination of the trip to Italy;

– the start date and duration of the trip.

With the appointment request, please send a copy of passport and any possible invitations from people or companies residing in Italy (in the case of visits to family members or business trips or for participation in special events).

The appointment must be requested well in advance of the date scheduled for the trip, bearing in mind that the availability of the calendar is limited and applications can be processed and finalized in at least two weeks from the submission of the complete documentation.

People who only intend to have an interview with the Visa Office must also request an appointment.

ATTENTION! AVOID OUTSIDE BROKERAGE ACTIVITIES

We report external activities not authorized by the Consulate, by agencies or private individuals who act as intermediaries for booking appointments and preparing visa applications. Please note that this Consulate is firmly against such activities, which are often illegal, cost users unjustified additional fees and may contribute to the non-acceptance of visa applications.

Users are invited to avoid recourse to these intermediaries and to arrange independently both for booking appointments and for preparing the documents necessary for submitting the application, which has no additional costs to those of the consular fees listed below.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS

The Consulate of Italy in Erbil can only process visa applications from residents of the Region of Kurdistan, under its jurisdiction, provided that Italy is the actual travel destination (or main detination) of the applicants.

VISAS FEES

The amount of the consular fees for the processing of the visa application (see the list here), must be paid at the time of submitting the application, in US dollars in cash and possibly in the exact amount necessary. This amount will also be collected in the event of visa refusal as it is not due for issuing the visa but for the administrative processing of the file.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR THE MAIN VISA CATEGORIES (in Englih, Kurdish and Italian):

For other types of visa, please see  the website  of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, “Visto per l’Italia” or ask the Consulate by writing to erbil.visti@esteri.it .
