At the 2024 edition of Erbil Build Expo, the international fair dedicated to the building, construction and integrated engineering services sector held in Erbil, Iraq from 21 to 24 May 2024, UNIDO ITPO Italy organized and supported on site the participation of a delegation of 8 Italian companies operating in the sector.
Thanks to its stand at the fair, UNIDO ITPO Italy allowed Italian companies to take part in B2B/B2G meetings, also promoting the activities in Iraq implemented by the Office and financed by the Italian government. On the occasion of the official opening of the fair, the stand was visited by Kamal Muslim – Minister of Trade and Industry (MoTI), Sasan Awni – Minister of Municipality, Mohammed Shukri – Director of the Board of Investment KRG, to whom were presented the Italian companies and the Office’s activities in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq in the presence of the Italian Consul in Erbil Michele Camerota.
During the four days of the event, the stand received numerous visits also from participants and exhibitors at the fair, offering the opportunity to present some Italian excellences of the ITPO Italy network interested in the Iraqi market and ready to collaborate on an equal basis with companies locals.
On the first day, a networking dinner was also organized by ITPO Italy with the exhibiting Italian companies, many authorities and institutional decision makers from Iraqi Kurdistan, Consul Camerota, the President of the Iraqi Federation of Industries Adel Alshnawa, the presidents of the main chambers of industry in the country, some selected entrepreneurs from the Italian community in Erbil, representatives of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA/ICE) office in Amman, and many companies from the Enterprise Development Center network supported by UNIDO.
On the sidelines of participation in the fair, UNIDO ITPO Italy visited the EDC Erbil facility, with whose support it organized a series of visits to some of the most important real estate projects underway in Erbil, including Mass Hills, Erbil Hills, Tulip Flowers and The Boulevard.
